Merlin are planning a 174 foot observation wheel for the town of weymouth, to open before the olympics. The project will cost £3 million and is part of an ongoing project to rejuvenate interest in weymouth.

I think its a good idea, considering its the Olympics so you can see the sailing going on from an unblocked height. Also, that part of the Dorset coast is amazingly beautiful and you'd be able to see a lot. If this does happen I think it will make a lot of money for the town.
