Yeah, it looks like they've gotten rid of all of what was there, and can now start shaping the site, ready for real construction to begin.

These are some big holes, near the Loos. I'm pretty sure they correspond with the position of the footers for the larger structure at the lift end of the ride.

So looking back at this... On this date a year ago, The Swarm's Tank was already at the park entrance, Lez Coogan had been there promoting the ride for ages, footer drilling had been going on for over a month, and even the track was spotted hiding away at the back of the park...

Could we be seeing SW7's track at Alton soon? Hopefully something interesting will happen soon!

I reckon Alton want this to be another top SECRET weapon coaster. Remember what they were like with oblivion done the track building in the closed season.

It strikes me that the awful weather has put this way behind schedule, as Matt said this time last year the swarm was flying up.

I was back at alton today (TR later) All they have done is dug a giant ditch next to Enterprise. It's all very intresting Smile

Oh dear Rich, although I'm pretty sure they'll be on top of that. The fence has also been moved further into X-Sector which signals to me that most of the major groundworks are now completed, and they can now get to work on minor site preparations at the edges of the site, ready for footers, and eventually trackwork.

As you can see the fence has been moved quite visibly outwards, which should be a good sign. Am I the only one starting to think that the awful weather may have really buggered the timescale of this? Comparing to other UK coasters, by this time in the year footers are usually going in/ gone in, and this doesn't look entirely ready for them yet?

Track was meant to arrive on the 1st of September if my sources are to be believed, there's nothing for them to get attached to yet, surely they'll have to push it back? I'm not really starting to get nervous about this opening on time, as there's always space in programs to assure that delays are minimal for opening day, but if we're not seeing the first sign of footers in the next 2 weeks I'll begin to question whether this will be ready to open on time. There's also the rather large station building which has yet to be started by the looks of it, and that should take a fair amount of time.
